Detection of cancer stem cells by immunohistochemistry of canine mammary neoplasias
نویسندگان
چکیده
Background Canine mammary neoplasias are very common and, in Brazil, 70% are considered malignant. Cancer stem cells (CSCs) are able to self-renew and have abilities to form metastases. In canine mammary tumors these CSCs were isolated by flow cytometry by means of the surface markers CD44+/CD24-. The aims of this study was detect these CSCs by immunohistochemical reactions and correlate them with degrees of canine mammary neoplasias.

Canine Mammary Gland Cancer Stem Cell and its Potential Role in Malignant Biologic Behavior
BACKGROUND:Canine mammary gland cancers are the most prevalent malignancies in dogs. There are different challenges regarding management of these cancers in dogs and human, one hypothesis is related to small cellular subset of tumor mass called cancer stem cell. These cells are therapy resistant and cause metastasis and relapse even after primary successful treatment. The well-identified phenot...

Identification of Cancer stem cell lineage subpopulations of tumor cells within the tumor mass offer to identify targets for therapeutic interventions and a better understanding of carcinogenesis. The main objective of this study was to evaluate the prognostic value of cancer stem cell lineage markers i.e., CD44, CD24 and Epithelial specific antigen (ESA) in canine mammary tumours using triple ...
متن کاملImmunodetection of cells with a CD44+/CD24- phenotype in canine mammary neoplasms
BACKGROUND Cancer stem cells (CSCs) are able to self-renew and to form metastases. Using flow cytometry, CSCs were detected in canine mammary tumors as cells CD44(+) and CD24(-). The aim of this study was to detect these CSCs by immunohistochemistry and correlate their frequency with canine mammary neoplasm grade and histopathological type.130 mammary neoplasm samples were selected from tissue ...
متن کاملAn unusual presentation of mammary Paget’s disease with a 12-year duration and no palpable mass
Paget’s disease of the nipple is an unusual manifestation of breast cancer. Most cases of mammary Paget`s disease are associated with an invasive or in situ breast tumor, even with no mass observed in mammography imaging. Very rarely does Paget’s disease occur in the absence of any underlying neoplasia .Herein, we report an 82-year-old woman with an unusual presentation of mammary Paget’s disea...
